How to Use the Time Tracker

Start a Timer

Click the green + button to open the time entry form. Select a project and task, then click Start Timer to begin tracking.

You can also add entries manually if you prefer.

Create Projects and Tasks

Click Create new project to set up clients, projects, and task types.

Custom projects are saved locally in your browser and will be available the next time you visit.

Switch Between Views

Use Day view to see detailed time entries for a single day. Week view shows a full timesheet grid.

Calendar view displays your time blocks visually, similar to a scheduling calendar.

Edit or Delete Entries

Click on any time entry to edit it. You can change the times, project, task, or notes.

Use the delete button to remove entries you no longer need.

Export Your Timesheet

Download your timesheet as a PDF for reports, export to CSV for spreadsheets, or copy the summary text to share quickly.

The export includes all entries for the selected period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the timer keep running if I close the page?
Yes. Your timer state is saved to your browser's local storage. If you close or refresh the page, the timer will resume from where it left off when you return.
Can I create my own projects and tasks?
Yes. Click Create new project in the time entry form to add your own clients, projects, and task types. These are saved locally in your browser and will be available the next time you visit.
What's the difference between the three views?
Day view shows detailed time entries for a single day with start/stop controls. Week view displays a grid where you can quickly enter hours for each day. Calendar view shows your time blocks visually, like a schedule.
Is my data saved anywhere?
All your time entries, projects, and timer state are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Use the export feature to back up your data regularly.
Is this time tracker free?
Yes. The time tracker is completely free. You can track unlimited hours, create unlimited projects, and export as many timesheets as you need without signing up or paying.
Can I add time entries manually?
Yes. You don't have to use the live timer. Open the time entry form and enter start and end times directly to log work you've already completed.

Yes. Create as many projects as you need, each with its own client name and task list. Each time entry is tied to a specific project, so you can track and export hours per client.
How do I export my timesheet?
Use the export buttons to download your timesheet as a PDF for reports, export to CSV for spreadsheets, or copy a text summary to paste elsewhere. The export covers the selected week or day.
